Stephan was a co-founder of Whitefox in 2000. An internationally recognized expert in membrane engineering, development and applications, he is a driving force behind the company's breakthroughs in membrane technology. 

Stephan built the company's team of chemical and process engineers, and manages relationships with key technology institutes and partners in Canada, China, Germany, Japan and the US. 

Stephan obtained his doctorate in Chemical Engineering in Germany, and is fluent in English and German, and has a good command of French. 

Prior to Whitefox, Stephan was business development manager at Cognis Deutschland GmbH, responsible for new products and technologies. He was responsible for the membrane research group at Henkel KGaA (Germany) and for the membrane reactor production plant at KEPEC GmbH.
