The GenX fuel cell is the first and only in the generation of truly user-friendly fuel cells: small, light and transportable. These fuel cells are proving to be a breakthrough in the commercialisation of fuel cell technology. The proprietary GenX fuel cell is the first user-friendly device – so small, light weight and portable it is ideally suited as a plug-and-play power source.
A flat, bipolar plate fuel cell employing porous carbon as the support is now old technology, due to its inherent sealing problems, and issues of reproducibility, complexity and cost. Commercially available fuel cells remain somewhat "experimental" in design, and there is a clear need for more 'user friendly' systems.
The GenX fuel cell was developed through a unique alliance of universities and industry. GenX brings together respected fuel cell researchers and a leading precision manufacturers.
