Senior Engineer - Technology & Operations

Reporting to: Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Reporting to the CTO, the successful candidate will be responsible for Whitefox’ pilot plants and industrial facilities worldwide. This includes managing and monitoring the installation process as well as operation of the facilities in accordance with Whitefox’s operating conditions.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain a thorough understanding of technical aspects relating to Whitefox’ equipment and plant designs
• Initiate, maintain and manage relationships with engineering firms to design, build and operate plants based on Whitefox’ technology
• Ensure all plants and industrial operations are in good standing and discuss operational aspects with customers, including training of operators
• Manage and carry out field testing, consulting, engineering, start-up support and on-going technical support at customer operations worldwide
• Identify and implement equipment and process and operational improvements
• Interview, select and supervise operators; coordinate shift work
• Keep certification of plants current at all times
• Regularly report on field experience to engineering team as part of continual development program

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

• Post secondary education in Chemical Engineering
• 10 years of industrial plant operations experience, including direct experience with chemicals, related equipment, instrumentation and electronic process control systems
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, research, develop solutions and improvements, document/report, setup and maintain new processes in semi-industrial and industrial scale
• Use of good judgment to identify and problem solve under pressure and tight deadlines
• A proactive self-starter, willing to take ownership and supervise engineering team
• Effective communicator with all team members and clients, both orally and in writing
• Proficiency in the English language with one or more secondary languages (German, Spanish, Portuguese, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese)
